If you have published a folder, then you can use either the HTTP publish URL or FTP Publish URL to access the folder and files in it.

The FTP URL is like:

ftp://ftp.drivehq.com/USERNAME/PUBLISHNAME/FILENAME

The HTTP Publish URL is like:

http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/publish/USERNAME/PUBLISHNAME/FILENAME

You can find more detailed info about the Publish URL using DriveHQ.com website. Just logon www.drivehq.com, go to My Storage page, click on Publish.

Using DriveHQ FileManager client software, it is even easier to publish a folder and get the publish URLs. Right after you publish a folder, it will tell you the publish URL; you can also right click on a Published folder, or the files and folders in a published folder, then select "Show Publish URLs" to see the publish URLs. You can copy all publish URLs at once.

Using DriveHQ FileManager, you can also find the "Safe Publish URLs".  A regular publish URL has your username, publish name, folder name and file name info. A safe Publish URL can hide all such info.

Could you explain what a /PUBLISHNAME/ is?

When publishing a folder using our website or File Manager, you have to give it a unique publish name.

is there a way to use my own domain name in the publish urls or safe urls?

For anonymous FTP download URL, you can add a DNS A record such as ftp.YOURDOMAIN.com that resolves to DriveHQ's FTP server IP address: 66.220.9.50.

You can then use your own domain name as follows:

ftp://ftp.YOURDOMAIN.com/USERNAME/PUBLISHNAME/FILENAME

For plain FTP and SFTP, that's all you need. If you need to support FTP over SSL, it will be more complicated. Please contact DriveHQ customer support via email.

If you need HTTP based URL, you can use our static web hosting service. You can then configure your custom domain. You will need to add a DNS A record so that your host name resolves to our hosting server IP address. Once this is done, you just need to upload files into the \wwwhome folder. Files in that folder can be linked at:

https://USERNAME.firstcloudit.com/FILENAME

or

http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/FILENAME  (HTTPS support is more complicated and it will cost more. Please contact customer support via email).
