Now that I had to create an account just to post?

I bought a foscam camera and after 2 days and the tech crashing my computer and router 3 times leaving with no wireless for half a day at one point, I finally got a senior tech on the phone and was online in 10min???

I was doing a search for a site to upload video if my camera goes come on, makes no sense to upload to the computer someone is breaking into the place to steal! I have seen this site come up in chat a few times and to be honest I have no idea why?

I did some reading and then called and was treated like a unwelcome guest and then did some more reading, watched a video demo with no sound that explained nothing and well if anyone is here that can explain to me, how I set this up, how I know it is working, how know if it is compatable, how about everything since the person on the phone seemed more interested something else.

First and foremost, CameraFTP can absolutely be setup to have cloud only recording (no local recording). Were you given a different impression when speaking with our phone support agent?

On an additional note -- I notice that you created an account for DriveHQ. However, if you are trying to upload images/video from an IP device, this will not be allowed on DriveHQ. As our phone support agent instructed during your call, you will need to create an account on CameraFTP.com and configure your camera this way. Instructions on configuring Foscam devices is linked above.

Thanks but the fault with that lays with foscam not this site, I was just complaining This whole thing is a disaster I was lied to by foscam about the cameras abilities and now that I got it I am finding out it does nothing I was told it would do. I am uanble to return the camera (they will only exchange) so I am stuck trying to figure out how to do something with what I have?

No the agent did say that it is possible but going into any detail or showing any interest in explaining things or helping me to understand anything was not in his interest.  I asked about the pricing explaining to me how to set up what do I need for this or that he said "go on the site" which was his answer for just about everything I asked.

From the post below it would appear that I opened an account on the wrong site and they are saying I was told that funny I record calls (I am in a single party state) I still do not hear where he told me that?

The camera is setup now I think? It is onine? Lat night was the first night and the sensitivity was set to high and was going off for no reason. Last evening had something like 20 images of my front door but interesting it is suppose to take video also and never did? This morning the tech said for it to take video not only do I have to have the computer on for it to upload to but I have to have the Foscam client open and on the screen with the camera image on the view screen or it will not do video, seems to me I was talking to another $%#@$%^& tech that things everyone is dumber than him and he just make dodo up?!

You know I thought I bought a security camera as in video not a camera as in takes a image every 10 seconds when it goes off? In fact the only way we have been able to get it to take a video is by activating the camera to record video form the client program downloaded from the disc?

But it is online!!!! and a total waste!

Thank you for your response. 

I'm assuming our support agent automatically assumed you were refering to CameraFTP if you were calling regarding a Foscam device. Apologies if this was not completely clear. 

When you create an account/order a subscription on www.cameraftp.com, you will have the option of choosing between image and video upload. Most Foscam devices support both video an image upload; if you are not clear on how to configure video vs. image, please send screenshots of your camera configuration pages to support@cameraftp.com. We will happily provide more explicit instructions on setting up your Foscam device to upload video rather than image.

OK, If you know anything about these foscam cameras this may make senes?

Last night when you sent this message I tried to use the IPcamera program to bring up the IP and double click on that to open the setup or what I think is the setup and once again the page would not open, timed out. So I got up at around 6:30am and in the next 3 hours I had two techs on my computer and a chat with a people in sales and returns.

They then had a senior tech call me and 1 hour 22 minutes later the computer is online again, the email settings are now working again to send notices, the camera's motion dector is now activating a email notice uploading pictures to the foscam cloud and uploading video to my computer, well for now?! and it is now 12:35 what will I do with the rest of my day!?

Anyway foscam has a cloud that I can get pictures for free it is video only that I am looking for. To me it makes no sense that it will upload video to the computer on the desk in the living room if someone breaks in because they are going to take the computer so yea that is really secure??

Anyway I am totally distraught with this and I have ZERO faith that this is going to be reliability at this point. I am going to give it a while and see if it keeps messing up before I open an account.
